I am hitting the road on May 1st for two amazing months in Xela, Guatemala! During my stay I am hoping to study Spanish and volunteer at a Women's Prison. My work at the prison will involve sharing my time, motivation, mental and emotional support with the women through art, theater activities and sports. In addition, I will be assisting the women in literacy training, conducting English classes, educating them about women’s rights, and conducting crafts demonstrations. I will also help organize medical and dental campaigns to better the women’s health and supply them with vitamins and pills for parasites.
I'm welcoming everyone to follow along here where I'll be posting weekly updates. However, I'm doing this trip on a very tight budget and I more than welcome your donations.
